The paleo diet, sometimes referred to as “the caveman diet,” is based on the principle that eating foods that were available to early humans will promote optimal health.

One of the fundamental theories behind the paleo diet is that modern food systems, production and processing techniques are damaging to human health.

Thus, if you adjust your eating style to mimic that of Paleolithic hunter-gatherers, you will better support your body’s natural biological function, improving digestion and health.

Paleo eliminates grains, legumes, soy, processed sugar and most sources of dairy.

The main foods permitted on the paleo diet include:

  • Meat and fish
  • Eggs
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Fruits
  • Vegetables — except corn, which is a grain
  • Selected fats and oils, such as coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, lard, tallow
  • Minimally processed sweeteners, including raw honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, raw stevia

So far so good. :)

I have been enjoying the meals but would like to know if the meat as in beef, pork, chickens are from grazing, grass fed animals, and is the salmon fresh wild caught or farmed? ... and are the veggies organic..

Our beef, pork, and chicken are sourced from Canadian farms, many located right here in Ontario. By supporting local agriculture, we’re not only reducing our environmental footprint, but also helping ensure fresher, safer, and more responsibly raised meats. While not all are grass-fed or pasture-raised, we prioritize working with farms that follow strict Canadian animal welfare and food safety standards.

Our salmon is premium Atlantic salmon from certified Canadian sources. Much of it is Ocean Wise recommended and Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certified, which means it’s raised sustainably with high standards for water quality, feed, and environmental responsibility. When available, we also offer wild-caught salmon to give customers additional variety and options rooted in seasonal sourcing.

Our vegetables are sourced as locally as possible, with a strong focus on Ontario farms. While not certified organic, we emphasize freshness, nutrient quality, and partner only with trusted suppliers who share our values.
